To kick off the urban summer, a garden center has opened in Zurich West, aiming to become the green living room of the neighborhood.
In addition to selling plants, offering consultations and courses, the Wild Gardener at the 25hours Hotel also provides culinary options and event opportunities amidst houseplants, vegetable seedlings, and fragrant herbs. The great thing is: our BeeHomes are also represented there, and soon our wild bee experts will be too. This is because a course program will be developed in the second half of the year, imparting knowledge about plants, composting methods, and biodiversity for various target groups. Our BeeHomes are not only inside the shop but also outside, where they can be admired in the sunny forecourt by the small greenhouse.
The project is an initiative of Dürnten-based Ernst Meier AG with the 25hours Hotels and is also an innovation platform for new products, start-ups, and business models that value community and biodiversity in the urban neighborhood. Of course, we are part of that!
That's why we left our mark clearly visible at the opening. To start the warm season, we equipped every room of the 25hours Hotel with a BeeHome One. 126 x 25 harmless mason bees moved into the 25hours already in spring, despite the lockdown, ensuring plant diversity in Zurich West and entertainment for hotel guests. This way, hotel guests have their own easy-to-care-for pets during their stay.
We are delighted to be part of this exciting project, alongside Freitag, WormUp, Embru, and Kein&Aber. The Wild Gardener marks the beginning of a network and a place where new products are developed and tested for their market viability. Brilliant!
