Egeler Lutz AG is a Basel family business with over 120 years of tradition. The SME renovates, insulates, plasters, refurbishes, and rehabilitates. Andreas Lutz, former CEO, will gradually withdraw from day-to-day operations over the next two years, focusing on transferring his know-how to the new owners, Nicolas Gütlin and Andreas Röthlisberger. "A sustainable transition to my successors is particularly important to me."

Andreas Lutz provides the keyword himself: construction and sustainability. At first glance, this doesn't seem like a perfect duo. In the case of Egeler Lutz, however, it's different. In 2021, for example, the SME already decided to contribute to reducing emissions and convert the first vehicles in its fleet to electric mobility.
"Yes, sustainability and construction can sometimes be a balancing act. Especially when I see that, as a construction company, we naturally have to seal surfaces," says the former CEO, but at the same time knows exactly how Egeler Lutz AG can make a small contribution: with the Beegnette. "We think the Beegnette is a great idea and were the first SME to support the initiative."
And how! Egeler Lutz purchased Beegnettes for its entire vehicle fleet, and these were applied directly to the vehicles.

"Our employees are also happy about the initiative. It is clear to all of us how important it is to create new habitats for bees, and this is how we can make a small contribution," says Andreas Lutz, who is enthusiastic about the initiative. "I naturally hope that many private individuals and SMEs will follow suit so that we can create and preserve new areas every year."

This sends a beautiful signal for a livable future and significantly promotes the following initiatives:
- Support for farmers to create wildflower strips and fallow meadows
- Collaboration with associations and initiatives that create bee-friendly habitats
-
In-depth educational work on promoting wild bees
Work & projects at schools, for associations & institutions - Knowledge transfer in creating new wild bee habitats
- Creation of new, innovative biodiversity products and development of technologies
The Beegnette can therefore confidently be called the most sustainable vignette in Switzerland. "With the Beegnette, everyone can truly contribute to biodiversity, and as an SME, we are happy to be pioneers," says Andreas Lutz proudly. There's nothing more to add to this concluding remark ;-).
